Events

A pub just isn’t a pub without events to keep the conversation (and the party) going. We are proud to host several reoccurring events, including:

The Narrow Chimney Reading Series every Monday at 7:00 PM

The Viola Award-winning, Narrow Chimney Series celebrates literature through the pairing of an accomplished MFA student writer from NAU’s English Department and a regional writer with at least one book published. The series has become such a hit that many authors on book tours will also veer off I-40 to swing by and lend their voices.

Juniper House Readings every Tuesday at 6:30 PM

Juniper House Readings is a weekly local literary event that features a unique reader each week as well as an open mic section that is open to any style. Fiction, essay, poetry, grocery lists, and non-fiction pieces of five minutes or less are all welcome. What sets Juniper House apart, is that all work shared must be original, fresh, and not read in public or published before that night. This leads to some truly amazing and spontaneous new works and gives readers a chance to try out something new with a friendly and creatively supportive audience.

Uptown Team Trivia every Wednesday at 7:30 PM

Knowledge Knights, Trivia master Carly Strauss leads this challenging and fun interrogation of the depth and breadth of your knowledge. The questions are tough. The drinks specials are good. Bring a friend.

Live Music Thursdays starting at 8:00 PM

Every Thursday, Uptown Pubhouse features a local band, DJ, or musician to add some tunes to the Pub. We feature a wide variety of music from many talented musicians, so Thursdays are always fun at Uptown!

Traditional Irish music seisiún every Sunday at 7:30 PM

Uptown Pubhouse is a proud sponsor of Living Traditions Presentations, which is a local Non-Profit Organization in Flagstaff, AZ. The group promotes Celtic music by providing musical and cultural performances as well as educational workshops. Each Sunday, the group hosts a jam seisiún at the Pubhouse lead by the award-winning teacher and Celtic musician, Kari Lapins. So bring your bodhráns, tin whistles, or just a knee to slap. Everyone is welcome to help carry the tune or simply sip a Guinness and listen to the fine jam session.
